The Kathakali Festival at Kollam Ashramam temple is held on the Rohini asterisk of every Malayalam month after Deeparadhana, usually from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm.
Description:At the Ashramam Sree Krishna Swamy temple, Kathakali performance on the Rohini asterisk is an offering by the devotees. Initially it was organised by the temple trust.
Devotees makes prior booking to conduct Kathakali. If the Rohini day is not available for booking, it may be done on the day corresponding to their asterisk as well.
Bookings for the Kathakali as an offering is done as per the needs of the devotee. Santhanagopalam, Rugmini Swayamvaram, Kuchelavritham are done as offerings.
Devotees also offer KalyanaSaugandhikam, Kiratham and Prahladacharitham for the favours received.
The Kathakali is held at the Mini auditorium close to the temple. The Kathakali starts after the Deeparadhana on the Rohini asterisk of each Malayalam month. The Kathakali performance is the main offering at the Sri Krishna Temple at Asramam.
