Description:Manaracd St.Mary's Syrian Jacobite Church is a Marian Pilgrim centre in Kottayam District famous for its annual Ettu Nombu Feast. The annual eight-day lent called Ettunombu is observed as a part of The Feast of Nativity of Mother Mary. It is also called Mathavinte Janana Thirunnal.
The Ettunombu Rasa is a devotional procession with tens of thousands of people participate carrying decorated umbrellas (Muthukuda) and Gold and Silver Crosses.
On the Eighth day of the lent, Pachor is served as nercha. Pachore is prepared using rice, jaggery and milk. About 8 tonnes of rice is used for preparing Pachor Nercha.
