Marwar is celebrated in the Ashwin Month as per the Hindu Calendar. The celebrations are held on the two days that end on the Sharad Purnima. This falls in the months of September/October.
Description:Marwar Festival celebrated in Jodhpur in Rajasthan is a tribute to the heroes of Rajasthan of the bygone years.
It is celebrated in a typical Rajasthani Style with colourful folk dance and music. It is a reminiscence of the romantic and heroic life of its Rajput kings and warriors and the legends associated with them.
The celebrations are held in the Mehrangarh Fort, Mandore Fort and Umaid Bhawan Palace premises.
The Festival is also a good occasion for buying traditional Rajasthani items and ethnic style clothing for the visitors. The festival was previously called the Maand Festival.
