The Thunchan Festival is held in the first week of February.
Description:The annual festival dedicated to Thunchath Ezhuthachan and Malayalam literature is organised by the Thunchan Memorial Trust and Research Centre at Thunchan Parambu, Tirur.
The festival begins with the recitation of poetry by Thunchathu Ezhuthachan. This is followd by Inaugural ceremony. Other main events are
- Literary Quiz
- Poem writing competition
- Poets and Literarian Meet
- Arts festival
- Classical vocal concerts
- Cultural procession with the iron stylus used by Ezhuthachan
- National seminars
