The Araku Balloon festival is usually held between the months November and January.
Description:Araku balloon festival is probably the only international hot air balloon festival in the country at this level. It is aimed at establishing Araku as a significant tourism destination. The Araku valley is about 115 km from Vizag or Visakhapatnam.
A beautiful campsite is created on an otherwise tough terrain. Araku Valley now hosts International pilots and travel journalists from over a dozen countries.
Special shaped balloons represented various countries. They make a colourful spectacle, creating a euphoria as they decorate the skyline of Araku. Thousands who attended witnessed the magnificent balloons lighting up the sky.
Through registration and spot lotteries, many people also get a chance to experience a balloon flight.
The 2019 edition was from 18th to 20th of January, 2019.
The Araku balloon festival is organised by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism.
