Aranmula Boat Race 2018 is on August 29th. Aranmula Vallam Kali is held on the Uthrattathi day in the Month of Chingam.
Description:Aranmula Boat Race is associated with the festival at the Aranmula Parthasarathy temple festival. Well decorated snake-boats (Chundan Vallam) called palliyodam will take part in the race singing the traditional boat race song called vanchipattu. It is held on the river Pampa.
Each village (Kara) on the banks of river Pampa will have their palliyodam. Aranmula Boat Race is more of a temple ritual than a boat race.
