The Guru Gopinath Museum is open on all days except Mondays and public holidays from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.
Description:Guru Gopinath Dance Museum and Natana Gramam in Vattiyurkkavu encompass representations of all the traditional dance forms of India. The Museum is under the Dept. of Culture, Govt. of Kerala.
The Dance museum is a meeting point of varied art forms, oriental as well as western. It has depictions of hundreds of art forms, in wax or Plaster of Paris. This 'one of a kind' and elegant museum was designed by the Centre of Science and Technology for Rural Development.
The collection ranges from the 'Dancing girl of the Mohenjo-Daro' to the Guru's own contribution, Kerala Natanam. Kerala Natanam is an art form which is taken out of Kathakali without compromising its classical beauty.
The museum has a comprehensive library that covers the history of all the dance forms of India. This is useful for students of literature as well s research scholars.
It has a briefing hall where the visitors are first introduced to the museum before entering the wax museum.
The museum is a visual encyclopedia for dance art forms. It has Life size sculptures of the legends in various dance forms in their costumes. Representational depictions of dance forms with connecting informational notes are displayed along.

- Audio Visual Room which has educational and informational videos on the history and evolution of dance forms in India.
The museum covers an area of 2 acres and has twelve galleries. The Natana Gramam was established in the year 1994 as a joint effort of the State and Central Governments.
The Dance museum was a wish fulfilment of the legendary Kathakali Maestro Guru Gopinath. The ambience has the class and style of an international museum.
