The Humpi Festival or the Vijaya Utsav is usually held in the first week of November. However this is not a fixed date and may change.
Description:Hampi used to be an ancient town in the erstwhile Vijayanagara empire. The present Hampi Festival is reminiscent of the festival of those times.
Dance, music, entertainment and Sculpting are held as a part of the festival. The programs are held at multiple venues. The Hampi Festival is now organised by the Govt. of Karnataka.
It is also an opportunity for visitors to get to know the intriguing history of the town of Hampi. The town has a number of temples, mostly ruined, from the times of the Vijayanagara empire.
The Humpi festival is locally known as the Vijaya Utsav. This is one of the largest cultural events in Karnataka.
