Description:

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum in New Delhi showcases personal moments from Indira Gandhi’s life. The museum has artefacts and some of her personal belongings on display. The museum was her residence at the time of her assassination. Smt Indira was India's first and till date only woman prime minister.

Every corner of this memorial is simple and tastefully done and history reverberating in the ambience. A few rooms are displayed with the newspaper cuttings of important events related to Indira as well as the history of India. Walk through the bedroom, study room and dining hall. It has on display the saree she wore on the day she was assassinated.

The museum is inspirational and helps to know Indira the person. It has several photographs of the Nehru Indira personal moments and also rare memorabilia.

Also on display inside the museum is shreds of kurta worn by Rajiv Gandhi at the time of his assassination.
