Kerala School Kalolsavam 2018 will be held at various venues in Thrissur from January 6th to 10th, 2018. Competitions in different categories for High School and Higher Secondary School students will be held in as much as 24 venues in and around Thrissur. Going by the number and diversity of competition items and the number of participants, Kerala School Kalolsavam is unmatched.
Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the festival. The welcome song will be sung by the 58 Music Teachers from Thrissur. Kerala Kalamandalam will provide the visual manifestation.
This years school mela will be as per the new modified Kalolsavam manual. For six events, Kathakali, Ottanthullal, Nadodi nriththam, Kerala natanam, Mono act and Mimicry will have a common competition for both boys and girls. The duration of the school mela was cut short from 7 days to 5 days as that is compensated with more venues.
Last time the state youth festival was held in Thrissur was in 2012. In 2017, it was held in Kannur.
