Description:The Lumbini festival is celebrated at Nagarjunasagar in Hyderabad to mark the Buddhist heritage in the state. Many thousands of Buddhist followers, as well as tourists, throng to the city of Hyderabad to celebrate the Lumbini festival. Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage centre in Nepal which is believed to be the birthplace of Gautama Buddha.
The festival is organised by the state tourism department.
