Pushkar Camel Fair starts on the First of the month of Kartik and ends on Kartik Poornima, It falls on the end of October / beginning of November.
Description:Around 50,000 camels that live in the Pushkar desert are shaved, dressed up and paraded in various contests. This traditional festival is one of the oldest festivals in India. It is a way of thanking the camels for their help.
Apart from the trading of livestock, it is also an occasion of a pilgrimage for Hindus to the nearby Pushkar Lake.
