The 10 day itfok 2018 'Reclaiming the Margins', The 10th International Theatre Festival of Kerala will be inaugurated in the Cultural capital of Kerala, Thrissur with the traditional Kerala Percussion giving it a festival feel.
The ‘marginalized’ are generally described as those who have been isolated, excluded, alienated, or pushed to the edges (margins) of society. The reasons for this are many – poverty, gender, sexuality, race-ethnicity-caste-creed, being indigenous or “tribal”, disability, knowledge – they all bring with them the risk of marginalization. Reclaiming the Margins is the focus for ITFoK's 10th year.
Prof. C Raveendranath, the state education minister along with actress Seema Biswas will inaugurate the festival.
Theatre performances from 13 countries; Palestine, Iran, Poland, Chile, Egypt, Singapore, South Arica, Spain, Georgia, Sri Lanka, UK, Singapore and India will provide a cross-section of the current theatre around the globe.
16 Foreign Plays and 11 Indian Plays, out of which 5 in Malayalam will be played in the festival.
Apart from theatre performances, there will be 'meet the artists', theatre seminars, photography exhibitions, performance workshops, traditional and folk performances, poetry session and open forums as a part of the ITFOK 2018.
Festival directors are distunguished theatre personalities S. Sunil from Kerala, M.K. Raina from Delhi and Rajeev Krishnan from Tamil Nadu.
Tickets / Registration:All plays are ticketed except those at Palace Grounds which is free, but will be on a first come first served basis. All other events are non ticketed. Price per ticket Rs. 30. Only 2 tickets per person can be purchased. Tickets may be purchased at the venue 30 minutes prior to the show. However online booking is advised. Internet ticket booking available at http://bookyourseats.In/product-category/itfok/ #Reservation Slip/Email (Soft copy) and Identity Proof are essential to collect Show Tickets from the venue counters. # Seats are not numbered. Assignment of seats is on a first come, first served basis # Reservations are neither refundable nor transferable.
