The Surajkund Internationa Crafts Mela is usually held in the first two weeks of February every year.
Description:Surajkund Mela is the largest handicrafts exhibition and fair in the world. It is jointly organised by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism with the support of various central ministries including Textiles, Tourism, Culture and External Affairs.
All the states of India are represented at the Surajkund Crafts Fair. It opens an avenue to market the vast variety of Indian handicrafts, especially pottery, paintings, handlooms and ethnic jewellery to other countries.
The Surajkund Mela was first Started in 1987. It was elevated to the status of an international fair in 2013. More than 20 countries participate in the fair as of now. The stalls number 1250 and more.
Other attractions include shopping festival, cultural and entertainment events and food courts.
The Surajkund Mela 2019 is its 33rd edition. The theme state for Surajkund Mela 2019 is Maharashtra.
About Surajkund
Surajkund is just 22 km from the National Capital, New Delhi and just a few miles from South Delhi. It is located in the Faridabad District, the biggest city in the state of Haryana.
Surajkund is a lake constructed in the 10th century and the village nearby came to be known by that name.
Tickets / Registration:Surajkund Mela tickets are priced at Rs 120 for entry from Monday to Friday and Rs 180 on weekends. Tickets can be procured at the venue.
