Adoor Sree Parthasarathy Temple Festival Kodiyettu is held on the Thiruvonam asterisk of the Malayalam month of Makaram. The 10-day long Festival ends on the Rohini asterisk of Makaram.
Description:The Adoor Gajamela is held as a part of the 10 day festival at Sree Parthasarathy Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. Nine mighty and strong tuskers are caparisoned and paraded in a grand procession accompanied by Panchavadyam. One of these tuskers, selected from the best among the elephants in Kerala/South India are given the Gajarajapattam which literally means king of elephants.
