The Paripally Gajamela is held in the Malayalam month of Kumbham. The festival falls in early March. The Gajamela is on the concluding day of the 10 day festival at the Kodimoottil temple.

Description:The Paripally Gajamela is a grand elephant pageantry is held at the Sree Bhadrakali Temple at Kodimoottil, Paripally. Scores of caparisoned elephants participate in the Gajamela.
The Gajamela starts at about 3 pm where a traditional melam is also held along with. From then on the elephants move to the four directions of the place. They then assemble at the Paripally junction and then move towards the temple accompanied by Thakappoly and Percussion.
Deepalankaram in the evening followed by cultural programs. Kodoyirakku or the taking down of the flag on the early hours of the following day.
