Description:Champakkulam boat race which occurs in the Malayalam month of Mithunam (June / July) is probably the oldest snake boat races in the state. Champakkulam boat race also marks the beginning of the boat race season in Kerala.
Champakkulam Boat Race is held in Champakkulam river which is tributary of river Pampa. Competitions are held under the different category of boats like chundan, Churulan, Iruttu kuthi etc.
