Malabar Mahotsavam at Kozhikode is held in the months of Janauary. (Date to be advised).
Description:Malabar Mahotsavam is a tourism festival organised by the Kozhikode District Tourism Promotion Council. Malabar Mahotsavam is aimed at promoting the huge tourism opportunities of the Malabar region.
Art and cultural events are held simultaneously on various stages during the festival. The main venues are
- Mananchira Maidan
- Kozhikode Beach
- Thali Heritage Open Stage
- Sarovaram Open Stage
- Model School Ground
Programs include
- Theatre Programs
- Gazal Performances
- Rock Music Concerts
- Martial Art Performances
- Classical Dance and Music
- Amusement and fun rides for kids
- Food stalls that serve the traditional Malabar cuisine
Apart from the regular events, each Malabar Festival brings in some novel and variety entertainment to the visitors. Malabar Mahotsavam is also intended for encouraging budding artists from Malabar and also promoting its regional art forms like Theyyam and Kalaripayattu.
