Schedule and Timing:
The Mangalavanam bird sanctuary is open from 10 am to 5 pm on all days of the week.
Description:A bird sanctuary right in the middle of the city could be the best fitting statement for this small yet significant bird sanctuary in the heart of Ernakulam near the high court. Visit to believe that such a place exists at a few hundred meters or so from the crowded high court junction.
It covers an area of 6.7 acres out of which only 2 acres are proper land, rest are mangroves, marshy land and extensions to the lake. It is only the second bird sanctuary in the district after Thattekkad.
Entry is free. Visitors just need to enter their name in the visitors register.
