As poignant as it is tiny, Mani Bhavan Sangrahalaya is in the building where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his visits to Mumbai from 1917 to 1934. The leader formulated his philosophy of Satyagraha or the non-violent protest. He launched the Civil Disobedience campaign from Mani Bhavan.

Exhibitions include a photographic record of his life, along with dioramas and documents, such as letters he wrote to Adolf Hitler and Franklin D Roosevelt and tributes from Ho Chi Minh and Einstein.

A research centre and a Gandhi Library is functioning within the premises.
