Ajmer Urs is held from the 1st to 6th in the Rajjab month of the Islamic calendar.
Description:Ajmer Urs commemorates the death anniversary of the revered Sufi Saint Moinuddin Chishti who lived in the 11th - 12th centuries. The Dargah of Moinuddin Chisti is on the foot of the Taragarh hill in Ajmer.
A major highlight of the Ajmer Urs festival is the night long Qawwali singing. The festival lasts six days. The most important part of the Urs, called the Chhati Sharif is held between 10 am and 1.30 pm on this day.
Urs is the rituals associated with the death anniversary of the Sufi Saints.
