The Baneshwar Fair start with the Magh Shukla Ekadasi and end on the Magha Purnima. This falls in the month of February. The Baneshwar Mahadev temple remains open from 5 am to 11 pm on the festival days.
Description:The Baneshwar Mela also called as the Tribal Kumbh Mela is held at two associated temples, the Baneshwar Mahadev Temple and the Vishnu Temple. The Baneshwar delta formed at the confluence of the rivers Som and Mahi is the centre of the Baneshwar Fair.
The religious ceremonies are largely attended by the tribal communities especially the Bhil community. The devotees come to pay home to Siva (Baneshwar Mahadev) and Vishnu. Members of the Bhil community from other states, mainly from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat visit Baneshwar during the fair.
The morning rituals start at 5 am when the Siva Linga is bathed and saffron colour smeared followed by Aarti using incense. In the evening, Bhabhut or the ash is applied followed by aarti using wick-lamp. Identical rituals are followed at the Vishnu Temple also.

The fair has amusement rides and shopping opportunities. Interesting pieces of tribal hand work will be put up for sale. These include the traditional bow and arrow of the Bhils.
Cultural programs are arranged by different groups in the evenings. The main attraction is the folk arts of the Bhil community.
