Description:Cherai Beach Festival organised by the Pallippuram Panchayat is a week-long celebration at Cherai beach. Cultural programs are conducted on evenings. Among other art forms, Chavittu Natakam a colourful traditional art form which had its origins near the area is also performed. A Gajolsav or elephant festival is organised on the final day of the fest.
The Cherai Tourism Mela or the Cherai Beach Festival is organised so as to tap the tourism potential of the area during the Christmas and New Year Season. Cherai has one of the finest beaches in central Kerala.
