The Kavadi Mahotsavam is a four day festival held twice in an year. It is celebrated in the last week of the Malayalam months, Medam and Vrischikam. Kavadi is carried by devotees on the final day of the festival.
Description:The Suryadeva temple at Adithyapuram is dedicated to the Sun God. Taking Kavadi is a ritual performed here. Rakthachandana Kavadi is believed by devotees to have the power to cure diseases.
