The Four day festival is held in the Malayalam month of Thulam which is usually October/November. The festival usually falls in November.
Description:The Cheriya Pattu Mahotsavam is held to receive blessings of the presiding deity Sastha, the son of Lord Siva. Groups of people sing songs of praise together to please the deity.
On the third day, Thidambu Nrutham along with Pattu Utsavam is performed. Special Poojas are held during these days. The Pattutsavam is originally said to have started in the Nilambur Kovilakam.
