Kondoty Nercha is held in three days in the month of Muharram as per the Islamic Calendar.
Description:The annual nercha at Kondotty Qubba or the tomb of the first of the Kondotty Thangals is celebrated in the memory of the Sheikh Muhammed Shah.
The highlight of the event is the 'Pettivaravu' or the nercha procession that comes from different areas to the Qubba. The last of which is called the 'Thattante Petti'.
Cultural events like Kolkali, Duff Muttu are held on these days. Shehanai is also sung. The events end with the Chandanamedukkal. A ceremonial cannon ball firing is held to mark the end of festivities. A traditional Mughal recipe called the Mareedha is distributed at the end of the festival.
